VICTORY - by Herbert Kauffman

You are the man who used to boast
That you’d achieve the uttermost,
Someday.

You merely wished a show,
To demonstrate how much you know
And prove the distance you can go…

Another year we’ve just passed through.
What new ideas came to you?
How many big things did you do?

Time…left twelve fresh months in your care
How many of them did you share
With opportunity and dare
Again where you often missed?

We do not find you on the list of Makers Good.
Explain the fact!
Ah no, ‘twas not the chance you lacked!
As usual – you failed to act!

I encourage you to memorize this poem and read it daily -
it may help you generate enthusiasm for the day.

Being a True Champion

Have you ever wondered what separates true champions from the rest of the competition...?
It seems that all to often we like to make excuses that the true champion is just born with natural ability that we could never obtain.

I once believed this, but I'm learning that, yes - natural born ability helps, but Vision, Attitude, Persistence, and Determination are what separates a true champion from the rest of the competition.

2010 - VISION
- To Build Character
- To Make a Difference
- To Strengthen Families
- To Create Meaningful Memories
- To Achieve Financial Prosperity

2010 - ATTITUDE
- To learn from the past and focus on the future.
- To remove the word "can't" from my vocabulary
- To focus on the statement, "YES YOU CAN."
- To remember that the world is a mirror - Smile and it smiles too.
- To commit to cultivating postive dominant thoughts.

2010 - PERSISTENCE
- To Stay the Course.
- To hang on one second longer than the competition.
- To be a Champion- The reward for those who persevere far exceeds the pain that must precede the victory. Champions are made in the process of pain.
- The last key in the ring may be the one that opens the door.

2010 - DETERMINATION
- To Never Quit - Almost all failures result from people quitting too soon.
- To be Patient - Most people fail simply because they're impatient and they cannot join the beginning with the end.
- To Endure - To power to hold on in spite of everything - the winner's quality.
- To see the Possibilities - The difference between the impossible and the possible lies simply in a person's determination.

Be the true Champion that you're destined to be. There might be a big "gap" between where you are and where you want to be, but have the courage to journey through that "gap" and grow from the experience. Remember it's not reaching the top that brings happiness and enjoyment, it's the climb!
